Answer Your Visitors From Anywhere

A visitor asks a question while you are out. Your phone buzzes, you tap the notification, and you answer before they go somewhere else. The Mirin app puts your chat inbox and your form submissions in your pocket.

Get Started

1. Sign in with your email

Open the app and enter the email address you use for Mirin. We send you a sign-in link. Tap it on the same phone and the app opens signed in. There is no password to remember.

2. Choose your site

If you run more than one site, tap the site name in the header and pick the one you want. The app remembers your choice, and switches automatically when you tap a notification about a different site.

3. Turn on notifications

The app asks once your inbox has a conversation in it. Say yes and your phone buzzes the moment a visitor writes in. You can change this later under Settings.

4. Reply

Tap a conversation, write your answer, and send. The visitor sees it straight away, and the same reply appears in your dashboard inbox.

You Stay Signed In

You sign in once. As long as you open the app now and then, it keeps you signed in and you never see the sign-in screen again. Nothing is stored on your phone in plain text. The app holds its session in the secure storage your phone provides for passwords, and that session is tied to this device alone, so it is never copied to your other phones or into a backup.

If you lose a phone, open Settings on any device you still have, find it under Signed-in devices, and sign it out. It stops working immediately and its notifications stop with it.

If your email app opens the sign-in link in its own browser rather than the Mirin app, copy the link from that page and paste it into the box on the sign-in screen.

Notifications

When a visitor sends a message, your phone shows who wrote in and what they said. Tap it and the app opens that conversation, switching to the right site first if you run several.

  • Notifications respect the availability hours you set under Chat Inbox settings. Outside those hours your phone stays quiet, and the message is still waiting in your inbox and in your email.
  • If you have entered a safety notice for your chat, the message text is kept off your lock screen. You see who wrote in, and read the message once you open the app.
  • Email alerts continue as they always have. The app is an extra way to hear about a message, not a replacement for the record in your inbox.

Replying With Poor Signal

Write your reply and send it as normal. If your phone has no signal, the app holds the reply and tells you it is waiting. It sends as soon as you are back online, and it will never send the same reply twice, so you can put your phone away without checking.

Form Submissions

The Leads tab shows everything people have submitted through the forms on your site, newest first, with unread ones marked. Open one to see every field they filled in, then tap their email address or phone number to reply straight from your phone. Reading a submission here marks it read in your dashboard too.

Settings

Website chat notifications
Turn the alerts for this phone on or off. Turning them off here leaves you signed in.
Signed-in devices

Sign out
Ends the session on this phone only. Your other devices stay signed in.

Which Plans Include It

The app is free to install, and the chat inbox and leads it shows are part of the paid plans. If a site is on the free plan the app will say so and point you at the dashboard, where you can upgrade.

Set up chat first

The app shows the conversations your website chat collects, so turn that on before you install it.
