Edit your website
The right file. Ready for your page.
Keep your website’s images, videos, and documents together. For example, upload a new team photo, describe it for screen readers, and choose it for your About page.
On this page
Add your files once
Open Content, then Media, and choose Upload. Drag files into the window or choose them from your computer.
Media
5 files · Sample library
Larger files need to be compressed before you upload them.
Upload more by running a second batch.
- Choose. Add the team photo and any other files you need. Remove a file from the queue if you picked it by mistake.
- Upload. Choose Upload files. Each row shows when its file is uploading, ready, or needs another attempt.
- Finish. Uploaded files are ready in your library. Retry failed files without uploading successful files again, then choose Done.
Keep the window open while files upload. If storage is full, free space or review your plan. A read only demo can browse existing files, while uploading and saving changes need activation.
Find the file you need
Use the Media header to search by file name or description, filter by file type or tag, and sort by date, name, or size. On smaller screens, open Filter and sort media for these controls. Images keep their full proportions in the gallery, with file names, dimensions, and sizes beneath them.
- Search
- Find “team” without scrolling through every file.
- Tags
- Group related files with labels such as Team or Services. Manage tags creates or removes labels without deleting files.
- Select all
- Select the current results. Shift click selects a range. Clear selection or press Escape to return to browsing.
- Change filters
- Selection clears when you change the search, file type, or tag.
Edit with a clear preview
Open a file to see its preview beside Information. Give the team photo a recognizable name and useful alt text, such as “Our team outside the downtown office.” Add a caption or tags when useful. These edits stay in the editor until you save.
- Crop and transform
- Choose a crop shape, drag the selection, rotate, or flip. Apply stages the crop in your preview.
- Resize
- Enter dimensions or choose a scale. Maintain aspect ratio keeps the image from stretching.
- Save
- Save the staged image edits and metadata together.
- Save as new
- Under File actions. Create a separate copy with your staged edits. The original stays unchanged.
- Undo, Redo, and Discard
- Review your changes or return to the saved file. Leaving with unsaved changes asks you what to keep.
What each kind of file can do
- Images. Crop and resize work on static PNG, JPEG, and WebP files. Other image formats keep their original file.
- Video and audio. These open with playback controls, so you can check the file before you use it.
- Documents. These open through their original file link, and you can still rename them and add tags.
An edited image gets a new address
Image edits create a new file URL, and existing pages keep the URL they already use. Replace the image on each page where you want the new version, then publish that page. Renaming a file or editing its description does not rewrite its URL.
If another session changed the saved file, Mirin asks you to reload it before saving again. Your current edits stay visible so you can review them first. File actions, then Reload saved file, asks before discarding unsaved edits.
Choose media for your page
In an image field, choose Browse media or Replace image. Search the library, select the team photo, and confirm your choice. Closing the picker keeps the field’s current value. Upload New lets you add an image without leaving the picker.
- Upload the photoContent, then Media, then Upload.
- Name and organize itA clear name, alt text, and a tag.
- Choose it on your pageBrowse media in any image field.
Selecting a file changes the field you are editing. Save and publish the page when you are ready. Removing an image from a field removes that reference, and the library file stays where it is.
Manage a group of files
Select the checkboxes on files to add tags, download, or delete them together. These actions replace the browsing controls in the same header, with the selected count visible. On smaller screens, open Selected file actions. Deletion needs confirmation, and failed deletions stay selected so you can retry just those files.
If a download cannot include every selected file, Mirin tells you which action needs another attempt. A failed download never counts as a complete export.
Check page links before deleting
Page usage information may not be current. Deleting a library file can leave a missing image or a broken download on a page. A separate saved copy stays available when it still uses the same stored file.
Start with one image you need on a page. Upload it in Media, then continue in the visual editor.
