Put your website online for free
The Free plan puts one website online at a Mirin address, with no subscription and no card. It carries a small Made with Mirin credit and is shared by its link. Your own domain is one step away whenever you want it.

Going online takes one button and a few seconds. Nothing is charged and no card is asked for.
- Open the plans. In the editor, choose Upgrade at the top right.
- Choose Go online free. It is the button on the Free card. The card names the address your website will be online at.
- Wait a few seconds. Mirin checks the page first, and you see Checking your website while it does.
- Copy your link. Your website is online shows the address. Choose Copy link and send it to anyone.
The Publish button does the same
On a website that has not been online yet, the blue Publish button says Put your website online, and its button reads Go online free. After that, Publish works as it does on any plan: edit, then publish your changes. Each publish is checked the same way.
Only someone with billing access can put the website online. Everyone else sees Keep editing for free on the Free card.
The Made with Mirin credit
Every page of a free website carries one small credit. It tells visitors the website was made with Mirin, and it gives them a way to report a page that looks wrong.
- In the corner. The credit sits at the bottom right of every page. It moves up by itself when a cookie notice is showing, so it never covers one.
- Small on a phone. On a phone it shrinks to a small round mark once a visitor starts to scroll.
- What it opens. A small card that says This website was made with Mirin, with Get my free website and Report this website.
- How to remove it. Choose a paid plan. The credit leaves every page as soon as the payment goes through. See Move to your own domain.
The check before your website goes online
Free hosting attracts scam pages, so Mirin reads every free website before it goes online. An honest business page passes in a few seconds, and the check keeps the address you share from sitting beside pages you would not want to be near.
- You choose Go online freeOr Publish, on a website that is already online.
- Mirin reads the pageIts address, its words, its links and what its forms ask for.
- Online in secondsMost websites go straight online.
The same check runs every time you publish a page on the Free plan.
Three answers
- Online
- The page passed. Visitors can open it at your Mirin address.
- Something to change
- Mirin says what to change. Fix it and choose Go online free again.
- Read by a person
- A person at Mirin reads the page first. When it is approved, your website goes online by itself and we email you.
When a person reads your website, we email you at the start and again with the answer. If the answer is no, reply to that email and we will tell you what to change.
Choose one to read exactly what the owner is shown. A page that cannot go online stays a draft, and nothing a visitor sees changes.
What a free website cannot carry
- Requests for secrets. A form or field that asks visitors for a password, a card number or another secret.
- Code and uploaded sections. A free website goes online with sections Mirin made. Code, and sections uploaded to the website, come with a paid plan.
- Placeholder text. Lorem ipsum left in a section. Put your own words there and try again.
- Another company’s name. An address or a page that uses another company’s name to look like it. Use your own business’s name.
The full list of what no website on Mirin may publish is in the Terms of Service.
Several tries in one hour
After several pages that could not go online within an hour, Go online free asks you to wait an hour. Your draft is safe in the meantime. Contact support if you would like help sooner.
If someone reports your website
The credit on every free website gives visitors a way to tell Mirin about a page that looks like a scam. It protects visitors, and it protects the name your address shares with every other free website.
- A visitor reports a websiteFrom Report this website on the credit.
- A person at Mirin reads itEvery report is read. The owner is not told who sent it.
- Rule breakers come offlineA website that breaks the rules is taken offline.
A free website that several different people report may be taken offline automatically until a person at Mirin has read it. Reports never take a paying customer’s website offline by themselves.
A complaint that a website uses someone else’s photos or writing follows our Copyright Policy, which says what the complaint must include and how an owner can answer it.
Taken offline by mistake?
We email you when your website is taken offline. Reply to that email and we will look at it again, or contact support from your account and say which website it is.
Move to your own domain
When you want your own address, no credit and a place in search results, choose a paid plan. Nothing you built is lost, and your website does not go offline while you switch.
One person, one location.
Two or more people, or more than one location.
- Open the plans. Choose Use my own domain on the Your website is online message, or Upgrade in the editor at any time.
- Pick a paid plan. Choose Continue with the plan you want.
- Pay at checkout. Enter your billing address and card, agree to the monthly charge, and confirm.
- Keep working. Your website stays online at the same address, and the Made with Mirin credit is gone from every page.
- Connect your domain. Follow Custom domains to point your own address at the website.
What each plan includes is in Plans and pricing, and checkout is covered in Manage billing.
