AI credits pay for the AI in the page editor. See how many your website has, what it spends them on day by day, and when they come back, then add more the way your account buys them: a monthly tier on Pro and Business, a one-time pack on an invoiced account.

What AI credits are
AI credits pay for the AI in the page editor: writing a section, rewriting a field, making a picture, or answering in the chat. Active paid monthly plans receive credits each billing cycle with one additional cycle of rollover. Free customers have no rollover. Available add-ons depend on your billing arrangement.

- They belong to the website
- Everyone who edits the site draws from the same credits, so the count can move while you are not editing.
- Priced by the delivered work
- See the price for the task and quality before it runs. A cheaper model does not change that price. Counts can have decimals, like 97.5.
- A failed edit is free
- If an edit does not come back, the credit it held goes straight back.
- Editing by hand is free
- Typing, arranging sections and publishing never use credits.

- Select your name at the bottom of the navigation and open Account settings.
- Choose AI credits, right under Billing.
- Read the four numbers under Balance for your website. Select the small info button beside any of them for what it counts.

- Left to use
- Everything the website can spend today: what is left of the monthly allowance plus unspent pack credits. “of 800 right now” is that total.
- Monthly allowance
- Your plan’s credits, plus any monthly credits you add. It reads “200 from your plan + 300 monthly credits” when you have both.
- Pack credits
- Credits you bought once, used after the monthly allowance. Credits Mirin added show here too, as “bought + added by Mirin”.
- Used from this cycle
- What the site has spent from its current monthly grant. Carried credits and their expiry appear separately. Other plans show their applicable allowance window.
The bar under the numbers shows the share used, as “49% used”. It turns amber at 80% and red when nothing is left.
When you run low
You hear about it before an edit is stopped. The AI credits page shows a banner at two points.
- At 80% used
- “This website has used 84% of its AI credits.” with See packs, which takes you to the packs. Add credits now so an edit never stops halfway.
- At 100% used
- “This website has used all of its AI credits.” AI edits wait until credits come back on the date shown, or until you add more. Editing by hand still works.
From the page editor
You never have to hunt for this page. The editor links straight to it.
- In the AI panels. When the site runs out, the panel offers Buy AI credits, beside Upgrade when a bigger plan exists.
- In the AI chat. Select the usage dial. It offers See AI credit options, which reads Buy AI credits once 80% is used.
See what you spend each day
Under the balance, Credits used each day shows where your credits actually went. It answers the question a monthly number cannot: was it one big rebuild, or a little every day?

- The sentence above the chart
- The whole period in one line: “391.4 credits in the last 30 days, across 58 AI edits, busiest on Aug 27.” Over 30 days that total is the same number as Used in the last 30 days in the balance.
- One bar a day
- A day with no AI work is a gap at zero, not a missing bar, so a quiet week looks quiet instead of looking like an outage.
- View daily values
- Opens every day as a table with its credits and how many AI edits made them. Screen readers get the same table without opening anything.
- What the credits went on
- The same period split by the kind of edit: building a design, making a picture, rewriting a section, rewriting a field. It adds up to the total.
Pick Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Last 90 days from the menu beside the heading. Ninety days is the furthest back the chart goes.
Use it to size what you buy
If the busiest week of the month took more credits than your monthly allowance, monthly credits will keep running out. A pack covers that week without changing your bill. The split by kind of edit usually explains it: pictures and new designs cost the most.
When the chart and the balance differ
The chart counts finished AI work. The balance counts the same work, so over 30 days the two agree. Two things are deliberately left out of the chart, and the page names both rather than leaving you to wonder.
- Edits that failed. An edit that does not come back gives its credit straight back, so it never reaches the chart.
- An edit still running. Its credits are already held against your balance and join the chart the moment the edit finishes. The page says so when that is the case.
On a website that was using AI before Mirin kept a day by day record, the page adds a line: “Your balance also counts 12 credits used before this website started keeping a day by day record, so they are not in the chart.” Those credits are real and already counted against your allowance; only the day they were used is unknown.
How you get more credits
There are two ways to add credits, and which one you see depends on how your account is billed. The AI credits page shows the one that is yours, so you are never offered something you cannot order.
- On Pro or Business. You add a monthly tier. It raises this website’s allowance each billing cycle and renews with your plan. Unused credits carry into one extra cycle only while the paid monthly subscription stays active.
- On an account we invoice. You buy a one-time pack by card. There is no monthly subscription to add a tier to, so a pack is the instrument that fits.
- On the free plan. There is nothing to buy. Free includes a small allowance to try the assistant; the way to get more is to choose a plan in Billing.
Credits Mirin adds
Whatever your account, Mirin can add credits to a website directly. Those arrive in History as a grant, with the reason we gave, and they are free.
Buy a pack
A pack is how an invoiced account adds credits. You pay once by card without leaving Mirin, the credits land on this website a moment later, and they have no scheduled expiry, including after cancellation. Bigger packs cost less per credit.
12¢ a credit. Base rate.
11¢ a credit. Save 8%.
10¢ a credit. Save 16%.
9¢ a credit. Save 25%.
8¢ a credit. Save 33%.
- Open Account settings, then AI credits, and scroll to Buy a pack.
- Choose Buy beside the pack you want. Review the pack, price per credit and Total today, then read the linked Terms and credit rules. Nothing is charged yet.
- Check the agreement box and choose Continue to secure payment. Enter your card and choose Pay $100. If the card form cannot load, Pay on Stripe instead uses the same purchase review.
- The page reads “Payment received. 1,000 credits are ready to use on this website.” The credits are in Pack credits straight away and the pack is in History.
Mirin records the Terms version you accepted with your purchase. A changed price or Terms version requires a fresh review before a new checkout can open.
What can happen at the card
- Paid. The page names how many credits are ready, and the pack appears in History as Available.
- You change your mind. Choose Cancel or Back to AI credits. Nothing was charged, and the same pack is still there when you come back.
- Your card is refused. The reason appears under the card form in your bank’s own words, nothing is charged, and you can correct the card and try again without starting over.
- Your bank asks you to confirm. A 3D Secure check opens over the page. Approve it and the payment finishes where you are.
Your card details never reach Mirin
The card fields belong to Stripe, our payment provider, even though they sit on the Mirin page. Mirin is told that the payment worked, never the card number.
Pressing Buy twice never charges you twice
Mirin treats a repeated press as the same purchase, so a double click or a retry cannot buy the pack a second time.
Packs are for invoiced accounts
If you pay for a website plan every month, you will not see this section, and asking for a pack another way is refused with a sentence pointing you at the monthly tiers. The reason is that a lump runs out: a tier raises the allowance again next month, on the bill you already have.
Who can buy
Only the account owner or someone with billing access can buy credits. Everyone else sees the prices with the buttons turned off.
Add more credits every month
On Pro and Business, this is how you get more AI. A tier adds credits each billing cycle and is billed with your website plan. Unused credits carry into one additional cycle while your paid monthly subscription stays active, then expire and never roll again.
10¢ a credit. Base rate.
9.3¢ a credit. Save 6%.
8.5¢ a credit. Save 15%.
8¢ a credit. Save 20%.
- Under More credits every month, choose Add. If you already have some, the row you pay for shows Current and the others read Switch.
- Review your plan change opens, the same review Billing uses. It shows your bill’s new monthly total, Due today of $0.00, the prorated adjustment and your estimated next invoice.
- Read the linked Terms and credit rules. Check the box to authorize the billing change and agree to those terms, then choose Confirm plan change.
- Back on AI credits, the new credits count toward the website right away.
Nothing is charged today. The change shows up on your next invoice. To stop, choose Remove monthly credits beside “You add 300 credits a month” and confirm the same review.

If your website has no monthly bill
A website whose plan has lapsed, or that has never had one, cannot buy either. The page says so and offers Open Billing, because the remedy is the plan rather than a top-up.
You can also pick a tier while changing your plan in Billing, where they are listed as AI credits. For new purchases they replace the older AI Boost options.
How credits are used
Every AI action draws from one pool for the whole website, in a set order, so your pack lasts as long as it can.

Expiry and refunds
Purchased pack credits have no scheduled expiry. They are not redeemable for cash and are non-refundable except where applicable law requires a remedy. Future actions use the displayed credit price; packs do not guarantee a permanent action rate or dollar value.
If the website’s plan is canceled
Purchased pack credits remain. Subscription allowances and rollover are available only while the paid subscription stays active, through its paid-through end date. Restarting does not extend an old grant’s expiry or roll it forward again. A failed action releases its original credits without extending their expiry.
If a pack is refunded
Its unused credits are removed from the website. Credits already used stay used.
Reading History
History lists every pack you bought and every credit Mirin added, newest first, with how many are left, what you paid and when.
- Available
- The pack or added credits still have some left. Left shows how many.
- Used up
- Every credit was used. The row stays as a record.
- Expired
- Unused pack credits ran out after a canceled plan. See below.
- Refunded
- The pack was refunded, so its unused credits are gone. Credits already used stay used.
- Removed
- The credits were taken off the website.
- Not paid
- A checkout was started and not paid yet.
- Checkout expired
- Checkout was not completed. Nothing was charged.
- Free
- Shown under Paid for credits Mirin added, such as “50 credits added by Mirin”.
Questions
- Do AI credits belong to me or to the website?
- To the website. Everyone who edits it shares the same credits, and a pack you buy is added to the website you bought it for.
- Which credits are used first?
- The monthly allowance, which includes any monthly credits you added. Pack credits are only used once the allowance is spent, so a pack lasts as long as possible.
- When do used credits come back?
- Paid monthly allowances are issued on the billing-cycle date shown in the editor. Unused credits carry for one extra cycle only, then expire. Free and annual plans retain their displayed allowance rules without this rollover.
- Do pack credits expire?
- Purchased packs have no scheduled expiration, including after cancellation. They are not redeemable for cash and are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Do unused monthly credits carry over?
- Active paid monthly subscribers carry unused credits into one additional billing cycle only. They expire at the end of that extra cycle and never roll again. Free customers have no rollover. Monthly add-ons recur even when unused. Review or remove them in Billing.
- Is anything charged when I add monthly credits?
- No. Nothing is charged today. The prorated difference appears on your next invoice with your website plan.
- Can I buy a pack?
- Only on an account we invoice. If you pay for a website plan every month, more AI comes as a monthly tier instead, because it raises the allowance again next month rather than running out. On the free plan there is nothing to buy: choose a plan in Billing and the credits come with it.
- What happens when the credits run out?
- AI edits wait until credits come back or you add more. Everything else in the page editor keeps working, including editing by hand and publishing.
- Does a failed AI edit use credits?
- No. A failed edit costs nothing, and the credit it held goes straight back.
- Who can buy AI credits?
- The account owner or someone with billing access. A teammate who can open the page without billing access sees the buy buttons turned off.
