Account and billing

Change your website and your account from one place

Mirin keeps your profile and billing separate from your websites. Choose a website before managing its settings or inviting the people who work on it.

On this page

How settings are laid out

Select your name at the bottom of the navigation to reach Account settings. Open the website name at the top of the navigation and choose Website settings for the website’s own settings. Both use the same layout.

Account settings

[email protected]

Profile

Your name in Mirin, the address you sign in with, and how Mirin looks on this device.

Your name

Shown in Mirin, in shared discussions, and on the invitations you send.

Optional.

Sign-in

Email address

You sign in with this address. It is also where Mirin sends account email.

Appearance

Applies to Mirin on this device only. Your website and your emails keep their own design.

Theme

System follows your device's light or dark setting.

Account settings with sample data. Change your name and watch the header offer Save, pick a theme, or open another category before you save to see what Mirin asks. Website settings is at the bottom of the list.
The header
Names the group and what it applies to. Account settings shows your sign-in email. Website settings shows the website’s name.
The category list
Every page in the group, with a link at the bottom to the other group.
The page
Sections of rows. Each row names one setting, explains it in a line, and holds the control.
Store
When you sell online, your store’s settings sit under their own Store heading in Website settings.

Save or discard a change

Settings save the way the page builder does. Nothing changes until you save, and you can change several things first.

  1. Change a value. The header shows Unsaved changes, with Discard and Save.
  2. Choose Save, or press Cmd S on a Mac or Ctrl S on Windows. The header shows Saved.
  3. Fix anything Mirin cannot save. The header says Could not save and the page explains why beside the setting. Correct it and choose Try again.

Leaving before you save

Opening another settings page with unsaved changes asks Save your changes? Choose Save and continue, Keep editing, or Discard changes. Your browser also warns you before you close the tab.

Changes to access ask first

Actions that change who has access, such as removing a team member or deleting a custom role, open a short dialog that says what will happen before you confirm.

Edit your profile

Your profile holds the name Mirin shows your team and the email address you sign in with.

  1. Select your name at the bottom of the navigation, then choose Profile.
  2. Change your first name or last name. The last name is optional.
  3. Choose Save in the header. Discard puts back the saved names.

Your email address is read only

It is the address you sign in with and where Mirin sends account email. The button beside it copies it.

If your first name is missing, your account menu shows Complete your profile. It opens a short form without leaving your work, and you can dismiss the reminder for the rest of the session. If a save fails, the names you typed stay on the page so you can try again.

Choose your appearance

Under Appearance on your Profile page, or in your account menu, choose Light, Dark or System. The choice applies at once and needs no save. Try it in the picture above.

System
Follows your device’s light or dark setting.
This device only
Mirin remembers the choice in this browser, so another device can use a different one. If your browser blocks storage, the choice lasts for this session.

Appearance changes Mirin’s own screens. Your website, your published pages and your emails keep their own design.

Website settings

Open the website name at the top of the navigation and choose Website settings. The header names the website you are changing, so check it before you save.

General
Rename the website in Mirin and copy its Mirin address. Visitors never see the name, and the Mirin address keeps working after you connect your own domain.
Notifications
Up to five addresses that get an email for each new form submission. Leave it empty to use your account email. A form can name its own recipients under Forms.
Chat
Whether the chat widget shows, alerts, the greeting, what visitors share first, business hours and the privacy link. A preview follows your changes. Read about website chat.
Domains
The Mirin address, your own domain with its DNS and HTTPS status, and other domains that send visitors to it. Read about custom domains.
Analytics
Send visits to your own Google Analytics 4 property as well as Insights. Mirin loads it only after a visitor accepts analytics cookies. Set up Google Analytics.
Global search
What shoppers find when they search your store: which sources are on, their order, their names and how many results each returns.

Account settings

Select your name at the bottom of the navigation. The menu lists the settings you have permission to open, then Mirin Support and Help & documentation.

Billing
Your website plans, the bills that pay for them, payment methods and invoices. Manage billing.
Team members
Who has access to the selected website, who has been invited, and every Mirin support visit under Support access.
Roles & permissions
What each preset role can do, and custom roles with exactly the permissions you choose.
Referrals
Your referral link and its name, the credit each referral earns, and every referral so far. Read about referrals.

Billing and Referrals need permission to view billing. The selected website’s Owner and Manager can manage its team. Roles & permissions applies separately to account roles.

Invite someone to one website

Choose the website you want to share before inviting anyone. Their invitation gives access to that website only. Your other websites, billing and domain ownership stay separate.

Loading team members…
Try the real Team members controls with fictional Northstar people. This example sends no email and changes no account.
  1. Select the website in the website switcher. Open Settings, then Team members. You can also choose Share → Invite someone while editing a page.
  2. Enter their email, choose Viewer, Editor or Manager, and send the invitation. You must own the website or have its Manager role.
  3. The email names the website, inviter and role. Accept invitation signs the recipient in and opens that website. Existing users keep their other access.

An invitation initially lasts seven days. Its email and pending row show the exact expiry. Inviting the same address again with the same role replaces the link without extending that expiry. To change the role, revoke the pending invitation and send a new one.

Seats by plan

1Free
3Pro
5Business
CustomEnterprise

The website’s plan sets its seat limit. Its owner, current members and pending invitations count toward that limit. Compare seats by plan.

Choose what they can do

ViewerView website content and analytics. Cannot edit or invite.
EditorEdit and publish pages and content, upload media and manage page SEO. Cannot delete content or invite.
ManagerEdit, publish, delete website content and manage its members. Cannot manage billing, domains or ownership.

These are website roles. They do not replace someone’s existing account role. Custom account roles and individual account permission overrides do not change these website grants.

Revoke a pending invitation to stop its link working. Remove a member to end their access to this website. Their other websites stay available. To change an accepted member’s website role, remove them and invite them again with the new role.

When a link no longer works

Ask the website owner for a new invitation if the link expired, was revoked or replaced, or its sender no longer manages the website. Older invitations that do not identify a website must be reissued from the selected website. An invitation cannot restore membership after it has been removed.

See when Mirin support opened your account

When you ask for help, Mirin support may open your website to look at a problem or make a fix for you. Every visit is listed under Support access at the bottom of Team members, with when support came in and what changed. The website owner and its managers can see it.

Support access

Every time Mirin support opens this website's account, the visit is listed here with when it happened and what changed. Support works within your plan, just as you do.

The real Support access section with fictional Northstar visits. Switch to a website with no visits to see its empty state.
Visit
The date and time support opened your account, and how long ago that was. Hover the date to see when the visit closed.
Status
Open now while support is still inside. Ended once they closed the visit. Timed out when it closed on its own.
Changes
How many changes support made and what they touched, such as Pages, Publishing or Media. No changes means they only looked.
Your plan
Support sees your account exactly as you do and works within your plan. Anything your plan does not include stays unavailable to them too.

A visit you did not expect

Support only opens your account when helping you. If a visit does not match a request you made, contact support and name the date shown in the list.

Support and visitor messages

Choose Mirin Support in your account menu for a private conversation with the Mirin team. Visitor messages arrive separately in Chat under Leads. Contact support or learn about website chat.

Before you verify your email

On a free homepage you have not claimed yet, the menu at the bottom of the navigation is named Guest. Verify the email used to request the homepage to open your website settings.
