Mirin app
Hear about every chat, form and order right on your lock screen
The Mirin app alerts your phone when a visitor writes, someone fills in a form, an order comes in or stock runs low. Choose which ones this phone gets, keep nights quiet, and answer a chat or fulfil an order straight from the alert.
On this page
Turn on alerts
Right after you sign in, your phone asks whether Mirin may send notifications. Choose Allow and new chats, forms and orders reach you wherever you are. If you said no, or never saw the question, open More, then Phone alerts.

Quiet hours
These choices are for this phone only. Your other signed-in phones keep their own.
The first row, under This phone, follows your phone’s own setting. It always says which of these it is.
- On for this phone
- Alerts are allowed. On the Alerts screen the row says On. Choose below which alerts this phone gets.
- Not enabled on this phone
- Your phone has not been asked yet. Turn on shows the phone’s own question. Choose Allow.
- Off in phone settings
- You said no once, and the phone will not ask twice. Open settings takes you to Mirin in your phone’s settings, where you allow notifications.
- More, then Phone alerts. The row under Alerts in More says where this phone stands and opens the Alerts screen.
- The Inbox. While alerts are off in your phone’s settings, the Inbox says Phone alerts are off. with Open settings beside it.
Choose which alerts this phone gets
Under Alert me about, each kind of alert has its own switch, and every one starts on. Turn one off and Mirin stops sending that kind to this phone, while your other phones keep their own choices. The words under each switch are the app’s own.
- Chats
- A visitor writes to you on your website. Reply from the alert.
- Forms
- Someone fills in a form on your website.
- Orders
- A new paid order. Fulfil it straight from the alert.
- Low stock
- A sale leaves a product with 6 or fewer. At most once a day each.
Orders and Low stock need a store
Those two switches appear only while the website open in the app sells online. A website without a store shows Chats and Forms. To stop new order alerts for every phone and email at once, turn off New order to you in the store’s notification settings. See the order emails.
On Android, each kind also has its own channel in the phone’s notification settings: Website chat, New orders, Form submissions, Low stock and During quiet hours. Silence one there and the others still sound.
Keep nights quiet
Turn on Quiet hours and your phone stops making a sound for Mirin during the hours you choose. The line under the switch says exactly what happens, such as From 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, alerts arrive silently. Nothing is lost.

Alert me about
Quiet hours
These choices are for this phone only. Your other signed-in phones keep their own.
- Silent, not skipped. Inside quiet hours an alert arrives without a sound and without lighting the screen. It waits with your other notifications, so nothing is lost overnight.
- Any half hour. From and Until each open a list of times on the half hour. Quiet hours start at 10:00 PM and end at 7:00 AM until you change them, and they can run past midnight.
- Your phone’s own time. The times are read in your phone’s time zone, which Mirin saves each time you change a choice on this screen.
- Start and end the same. The line under the switch says Pick a start and end that differ, and alerts keep sounding until you do.
What each alert says
An alert says enough to act on and no more, because a lock screen is a public place. Chats and forms come from your website’s visitors; orders and low stock come from your store.
No alerts yet. Send one from beside the phone.
- A chat
- The visitor’s name or email on top, or New message on and your website’s name when they gave neither. Below it, their message, cut at 180 characters.
- A form
- New form submission, then who filled in which form: Dana Whitfield filled in Book an intro class. It never shows what they wrote.
- A new order
- New order and its number, then the total, the number of items and the customer: $98.50 · 2 items · Jordan Ellis.
- Low stock
- Running low or Sold out with the product’s name, and how many are left. When one sale takes several products low, one alert names up to three and counts the rest.
- The sensitive information notice. While your website chat shows it, chat alerts say Open Mirin to view and reply. instead of the message, and form alerts say Someone instead of the name. Keep chat private.
- Business hours. When chat is limited to business hours, chat alerts stay quiet outside them. The message waits in the Inbox. Forms, orders and low stock alert whenever they happen. Set business hours.
- Low stock, once. A low stock alert comes when a sale takes a product from more than 6 down to 6 or fewer, and at most once a day for each product.
- Tap to open. Tapping an alert opens what it is about: the conversation, the form submission, the order, or the product. If you run more than one website, the app switches to the right one first.
Fulfil an order from its alert
A new order alert has two buttons, Fulfil and Open order. Both unlock the phone and open Mirin on that order. Fulfil goes one step further and opens Fulfil items straight away, so all that is left is packing the box.
- Check the quantities. Every item still to send starts at all of it, such as 2 of 2. Lower one to send part of the order now and the rest later.
- Choose the carrier. USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL or Other. Type a tracking number whose format names its carrier and the sheet picks it for you and says Carrier picked from the number.
- Check the tracking link. For a carrier Mirin knows, it is written from the carrier and number. Paste your own for any other.
- Decide whether to tell the customer. Tell the customer sends the shipping email with the tracking above, and it starts on. Choose Fulfil items, and the app says Marked as fulfilled.
- Not paid yet
- The sheet does not open by itself. Tap Fulfil items on the order and the app asks Fulfil this unpaid order? Choose Fulfil anyway only if you mean to ship before the money arrives.
- Already fulfilled
- If it has already gone out, from the dashboard or another phone, the order opens and says Everything on this order has already been fulfilled.
Tracking, partial shipments and everything else about an order on the phone are in Run your store from your phone. The same order in the dashboard is covered in Orders.
The number on the app icon
The Mirin icon on your home screen counts what is waiting for you on the website open in the app. Here, it would show 4.
One for each conversation with something new.
Opening it clears it.
Only for a website that sells online.
The Inbox tab’s own badge counts only chats and forms, because orders have a tab of their own.
Every phone keeps its own choices
Alerts belong to the phone, not the account. Sign in on a second phone and it starts with every alert on and quiet hours off, whatever the first phone chose.
- This phone only
- The Alerts screen ends with These choices are for this phone only. Your other signed-in phones keep their own. The phone by your bed can hear only about orders while the shop phone hears everything.
- Devices
- More, then Devices, lists every phone signed in to your account and says Alerts on or Alerts off beside each one.
- Signing a phone out
- Sign out beside another phone under Devices, and its alerts stop too. Signing out this phone warns you first: Phone alerts stop until then.
More holds the rest of the phone’s settings. See More in the app overview.
Questions
- Why did a chat not alert my phone?
- Check four things. Alerts must be allowed in your phone’s settings, Chats must be on under More, then Alerts, and the phone must still be signed in. If chat is limited to business hours, chat alerts wait until you are open and the message is in the Inbox.
- Do quiet hours lose any alerts?
- No. Alerts that arrive during quiet hours come in silently, without a sound or a lit screen, and wait with your other notifications.
- Can I stop order alerts on every phone at once?
- Yes. Turn off New order to you in your store’s notification settings. That stops the new order email and every phone alert for new orders. To stop them on one phone only, turn off Orders on that phone’s Alerts screen.
- Why does a chat alert say Open Mirin to view and reply?
- Your website chat shows the sensitive information notice, so alerts keep visitors’ words off your lock screen. Open the app, or use Reply on the alert, to answer.
- Why do I get a low stock alert only once?
- Mirin alerts when a sale takes a product from more than 6 to 6 or fewer, and at most once a day for each product, so a busy bottle does not alert you on every sale.
