Sell Online

Your store, handled

Sell directly from your Mirin site with a complete online store. Products, collections, checkout, discounts, orders, emails, and analytics all live in one place. By the end of this section you will have a store set up, published, and taking real orders.

This page is the map. It shows you what you are building, the order to build it in, and where every guide lives. Throughout these docs we follow one running example, a small coastal wine shop, from empty store to first sale.

What you get

Selling online with Mirin is not a bolted on plugin. It is a complete store that lives on the site you already have. Say you run a small coastal wine shop. Your shoppers browse your bottles, add them to a cart, and check out without ever leaving your site. You run all of it from one admin.

The two halves of your store

Every Mirin store has two halves. The storefront is what your shoppers see. You build it in the page builder with store blocks like product grids, collection pages, and the cart. The E-commerce admin is where you run the business. Add a bottle of Bordeaux Rouge 2021 in the admin, set its price and stock, and it shows up on your storefront ready to buy.

What shoppers buy from

You manage products, prices, and stock in the admin. Shoppers buy from the storefront.

This guide section covers both halves. The admin pages teach you how to run the store. The storefront page teaches you how to put your products in front of shoppers.

The setup path, in order

Follow these eight steps in order and you will go from an empty store to your first live order. Each step has its own guide. Most owners finish the whole path in an afternoon.

  1. 1

Create your store and connect payments. Name the store, set your currency, and connect your Stripe account so you can get paid. Store setup

  2. 2

Add products. Create each product with photos, a price, and a description, like Bordeaux Rouge 2021 at $34. Products

  3. 3

Organize collections. Group products the way shoppers browse, like Bordeaux, Under $30, and Staff Picks. Collections

  4. 4

Set stock levels. Tell Mirin how many of each bottle you have so you never sell what you do not hold. Inventory

  5. 5

Configure shipping, delivery, and pickup. Decide how orders reach shoppers, from flat rate shipping to local delivery and in store pickup. Shipping and delivery

  6. 6

Create discounts. Set up offers like a WELCOME10 code for first orders or free shipping over $50. Discounts

  7. 7

Publish your store emails. Review and publish the order confirmation and shipping emails. Order emails only send once their template is published, so this step is not optional. Store emails

  8. 8

Put products on your pages and go live. Add product grids, collections, and the cart to your site in the page builder, then publish. Storefront

Heads up: step 7 trips up more new stores than any other. Emails like the order confirmation exist as templates, and only the published version sends. If you skip publishing them, orders still work but your shoppers hear nothing.

Running the store day to day

Once you are live, the rhythm is simple. A shopper buys two bottles of Riesling. You get an email alert, the order appears in Orders as unfulfilled, and stock is set aside automatically. When you pack the box, you mark it fulfilled with a tracking number and Mirin emails the shopper their shipping confirmation.

The everyday loop. Most orders take under a minute of your time.

Refunds work the same way. Issue a full or partial refund from the order and the money goes back through your payment provider with a refund email to the shopper. At the end of the week, open Analytics to see what sold, what your average order was worth, and which bottles to reorder.

Already selling somewhere else?

If your catalog already lives in Shopify, WooCommerce, or Magento, you do not retype it. Connect your existing platform in Store setup and Mirin pulls in your products, collections, and custom fields, then keeps them in sync. Your wine shop can keep selling where it does today while you build the new storefront.

Migrate
when you are ready
Connect and sync first. Migrate when Mirin becomes home.
About Migrate: while a product is synced, you edit it on the original platform. Migrate makes your products fully editable in Mirin and turns off syncing. It is the moment your catalog moves in for good, so do it when you are ready to run everything from Mirin.

What you grow into

None of these are needed for launch. They are here so you know the ceiling is high when your store gets there.

Subscriptions
Sell on a schedule, like a monthly Staff Picks wine club. Shoppers subscribe once and billing repeats automatically. Covered with Customers.
Sales channels
Choose where each product is available, so a cellar exclusive can live on one channel without appearing everywhere.
Markets and catalogs
Sell into regions with their own currency and pricing, using price lists that adjust or override your base prices.

The payoff. Your website and your store stop being two separate things to maintain. The site that tells your story is the site that takes the order, sends the confirmation, and shows you what sold. One login, one place, and a checkout that belongs to you.
